Sixty Years, One Extraordinary Company
This year’s Twelfth Night company brings heart, humor, and a spark of 1966 Philadelphia soul to Illyria. Together, these artists shape the world of the play with craft, curiosity, and a joy that radiates from rehearsal room to stage.
Twelfth Night opens on July 3 and runs through July 26. Join us for an opening night reception celebrating our 60 years and kicking off the centennial celebration for City Theatre, the theatre arts program at Sacramento City College.

Meet the Cast of Our 60th Anniversary Twelfth Night
Stepping into our 60th year, we’re thrilled to introduce the vibrant ensemble bringing our 1966‑Philadelphia Twelfth Night to life. This cast of powerhouse performers, soulful vocalists, and sharp comedians is ready to fill Illyria with harmony, heartache, and a whole lot of wicked fun. We can’t wait for you to experience the magic they’re about to make onstage.

A reading
On Sunday, July 20, we will be sharing a reading of a brand new play and we’d like you to join us.
2026 marks our 60th anniversary as a producer of Shakespeare. In our research over the plays we’ve produced during that time, we discovered that, out of the 37 plays in the Shakespeare Canon, we’ve produced (in one fashion or another) 26 of them. For a company that did not set out to complete the canon, this is pretty cool. So Luther Hanson, Festival Director, took on a project to turn those eleven plays in a brand new play. Feedback is key to a plays evolution, and we’d love to have yours!
