  • The Eleven We Missed?

    A reading

On Sunday, July 20, we will be sharing a reading of a brand new play and we’d like you to join us.

2026 marks our 60th anniversary as a producer of Shakespeare. In our research over the plays we’ve produced during that time, we discovered that, out of the 37 plays in the Shakespeare Canon, we’ve produced (in one fashion or another) 26 of them. For a company that did not set out to complete the canon, this is pretty cool. So Luther Hanson, Festival Director, took on a project to turn those eleven plays in a brand new play. Feedback is key to a plays evolution, and we’d love to have yours!

What: By Looking Back What I Have Left Behind: A Brief Journey Through Eleven Plays We Missed.

When: Sunday, July 20, 2025 at 7:00 pm
Where: Art Court Theatre at Sacramento City Campus.
How: Reserve a spot and maybe even make a donation

    by William Shakespeare

Directed by Christine Nicholson & Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin

“Give me your hands if we be friends, and Robin shall restore amends.” Robin “Puck” Goodfellow

In this roller-disco remix of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, neon Athens pulses to synth-pop as four tangled lovers skate into a forest ruled by sparkling fairies and mischief. Oberon and Titania feud fabulously, glam-rock Puck stirs glittery chaos, and a troupe of bumbling actors sets the stage for Bottom’s transformation into a disco-donkey heartthrob. With mirror balls, mistaken identities, and enchanted love spun to an ‘80s beat, the magic breaks at dawn as everyone grooves into their glittery finale.

    Performance Dates: July 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 25, 26, & 27

Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays: Performance at 7:30 pm

    Sundays: Performances at 2:00 pm

Location: Art Court Theatre, Sacramento City College, located closest to 12th Ave. & Parking Lot K.

Advisory: This production uses strobe lights, loud 80’s music, and a disco ball.

Your visit: The theatre temperatures can vary as we have larger audiences – with this in mind, it is recommended that you bring a light jacket just in case it gets too cold, or a hand fan (no electric devices) to cool if it is too warm. We do not have direct control over the system and a call-in may not always solve it in time. Doors and house open 30 minutes prior to curtain.

  • The Interns are Back!

Experience Shakespeare like never before in Tom Stoppard’s riotous The Fifteen Minute Hamlet! This whirlwind comedy distills the Bard’s greatest tragedy into a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud 13-minute romp—plus a two-minute encore! Six actors, countless characters, and nonstop hilarity make this the perfect bite-sized theatrical delight for any stage.

Join our interns and some company members as they bring this story to life.
