High school students from the Sacramento area work and learn alongside some of the area’s finest artists in the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival Intern Company program. Find out if the Intern Program is right for you or your teen.
Goal
Participation in the high school intern program will help build self-confidence, self-esteem, independence, and team skills in a non-competitive atmosphere and give interns an unparalleled experience in Shakespeare performance and production. Interns will also perform a shortened Shakespeare play in a showcase performance on the main stage. Interns will receive instruction and hands-on experience in all areas of theatre production. All interns will participate in workshops including Voice, Movement, Shakespeare, Stage Combat, and more. College credit and/or community service hours are available.
Qualifications
- Between 14 and 18 years of age
- In high school, independent study or homeschool (summer before freshman or after senior year is acceptable)
- 2.75 GPA

Class information
- For first-time interns, use either TAP 380 or 390
- For returning interns, use TAP 390 (if not used previously), 381, 382, 391, or 392
