High school students from the Sacramento area work and learn along side some of the area's finest artists in the Sacramento Shakespeare Festival Intern Company program. Our interns work both on and off the stage in acting and technical areas, perform in "The Green Show" and attend workshops with our artistic staff in costumes, stagecraft, improvisation, movement and, of course, Shakespeare. Goal:
Participation in the high school intern program will help build self-confidence, self-esteem, independenceand team skills in a non-competitive atmosphere, and give interns an unparalleled experience in Shakespeare performance and production. ActingInterns will be the performers in The Green Show, a variety of short performances before mainstage productions. Technical interns will receive intensive instruction and hands-on experience in all areas of theatre production. All interns will participate in eight workshops including Voice, Movement, Monologues, Stage Combat and more.
Qualifications:
- Between 15 – 18 years of age
- In high school or home school (summer of senior year acceptable)
- 2.75 GPA (Los Rios CCD Requirement)
